As the Hainan Free Trade Port enters a new phase of development, Hainan Lausanne Tourism University (HLTU) has officially launched its nationwide admissions campaign for 2026. Approved by China’s Ministry of Education, HLTU is an independent higher education institution established in the Hainan Free Trade Port with the support of EHL Hospitality Business School. The university aims to prepare internationally minded graduates for careers across hospitality, tourism, and related service industries.
HLTU recently held its first 2026 admissions information session in Nanjing, marking the start of its nationwide outreach activities. As Sanya continues to develop as an international tourism destination, demand is growing for professionals with global perspectives, industry experience, and strong business and management skills.
Founded with academic support from EHL Hospitality Business School — ranked No.1 worldwide in QS Hospitality & Leisure Management for eight consecutive years — HLTU combines international academic standards with industry-focused learning.
Students who complete the program will receive dual degrees from both EHL Hospitality Business School and Hainan Lausanne Tourism University, providing internationally recognized qualifications and global career opportunities.
“We are not simply offering an alternative to overseas study,” said Dr. Luciano LOPEZ, President of HLTU. “Our goal is to create an international learning environment in China that combines global academic standards with close connections to industry and real-world experience.”
HLTU follows EHL’s educational approach, combining academic learning with hands-on industry experience. Through partnerships with international hotel groups, tourism brands, luxury companies, and service industry leaders, students gain opportunities for internships, practical training, and professional development throughout their studies.
Graduates will be prepared for careers across a wide range of industries, including hospitality, tourism, luxury retail, finance, consulting, and other service-oriented sectors.
As part of its 2026 admissions campaign, HLTU will continue hosting information sessions in major cities including Chengdu, Guangzhou, and Hangzhou, introducing more students and families across China to its international education model and career-focused learning environment.
