On April 25, 2026, Hainan Lausanne Tourism University hosted its first admissions event in Chengdu, welcoming families from across Southwest China to learn more about the university’s international approach to tourism and hospitality education.

The event brought together representatives from the Sanya Education Bureau, Dr. Luciano LOPEZ, members of the university’s academic and admissions teams, and alumni from EHL Hospitality Business School to discuss academic opportunities, student development, and future career pathways.

During the event, Dr. Luciano LOPEZ highlighted Chengdu’s importance as both a leading education hub and one of China’s most dynamic tourism markets. He noted that HLTU’s major in Hospitality Management and Culinary & Nutrition Education are well suited to the evolving needs of the region’s hospitality and tourism industries.

In the panel discussion, Dr. Luciano LOPEZ introduced the university’s academic model and international positioning. Hainan Lausanne Tourism University is an independent higher education institution approved by China’s Ministry of Education and empowered by EHL Hospitality Business School, ranked No.1 worldwide in QS Hospitality & Leisure Management for eight consecutive years.

EHL supports HLTU through its curriculum framework, academic standards, and quality assurance system. Guided by the philosophy of “Swiss Standards, Chinese Landscape, Global Vision,” HLTU combines immersive English-language learning with the renowned Lausanne educational approach to prepare students for international careers in hospitality, business, and service industries.

Upon graduation, students receive dual degrees from both EHL Hospitality Business School and Hainan Lausanne Tourism University, providing internationally recognized qualifications and global career opportunities.

During the Q&A session, families raised questions about academic programs, scholarships, admissions requirements, and career prospects. The admissions team also introduced HLTU’s 2026 nationwide admissions plan, which covers 19 provinces across China.

EHL alumnus Allen WANG also shared his academic and professional experience, offering students and parents insight into the wide range of opportunities available in tourism and hospitality management. He emphasized that the program develops not only industry expertise, but also transferable business and management skills applicable across multiple industries.

With a curriculum that balances practical learning with strong business foundations, graduates are prepared for careers not only in hospitality and tourism, but also in fields such as finance, consulting, real estate, and luxury services.
